Who is Ms. McMahon?
I grew up outside Chicago and went to Albright College in Pennsylvania. I live in Hamel, Illinois with my husband and two kids. Outside of school, I spend a lot of time with my family. My parents live in Northern Michigan but winter in Hamel. My sister lives in Edwardsville with her husband and two kids. I am lucky to have tons of support from a great family! I volunteer on the board for Geography of Hope, which gives scholarships to kids and teens who want to travel abroad. I love hiking, camping, traveling, and trying new foods.
I hope each of my students will become productive citizens. In order to achieve this goal, my initial focus is on calming and coping skills. In reading, writing, and mathematics, I hope to teach reasoning and questioning techniques that demonstrate how to explore our world. I am excited to help students learn about how to be successful in school and after.
